El Monterey Tornados Review

I took a trip to the grocery store this morning to pick up something for dinner tonight. Since I am babysitting, I needed something easy! While walking through the isle's I came across this tasty looking red box in the freezer section. Looking curiously at the box, I decided to purchase the product. Afterall, there was a sticker on the box saying "Try me free!". What is there to lose? You could receive a rebate for your purchase whether you enjoyed the product or not.

When I arrived home and put these in the oven, the aroma filled the house. I couldn't wait to try these out!

The product I chose was 'El Monterey Grilled Chicken & Cheese Tornados'. The description read "Chicken, Cheese and peppers in a seasoned battered tortilla".

One word can describe the taste "DELICIOUS"!! These tornados had the perfect mixture of cheese, peppers and chicken.

There are several varieties of 'Tornados' by El Monterey depending on your grocery store. I cannot wait to induldge in more flavorful 'Tornados' in the future and they are inexpensive at $2 for a 8.4oz box of 3 in Wal-mart!

Alright, I cheated...I ate 2 and not the standard 1 as described as one serving. I couldn't help myself, they were too good and let's face it, I was hungry.

The ingredients are a little scary if you read labels, I don't always read the labels on my foods. I should but, I don't. Heck, I could hardly understand what most of them are! I suppose that isn't a good thing, if I don't understand then I shouldn't eat them but, I do.

Allergens: Wheat, Soy, Milk.

Maximum Crunch- Preheat oven to 350, spread amount of Tornados on Cookie sheet and bake for apx. 25 minutes (Frozen) or 20 minutes if thawed.

Quick and crispy- Preheat conventional oven to 450, microwave tornados for 1 minute and transfer to cookie sheet to bake in oven for 7-8 minutes.

Fast- Wrap one tornado into papertowel and microwave on high for 50 seconds.

I used the Maximum crunch method and they turned out crispy and flakey. It only took about 15-20 minutes and they were semi-frozen from the grocery store.
