BKW Seasonings Review & GIVEAWAY! Ends 4/15

There is nothing like sitting down and enjoying a great tasting meal at home. I frequently seek out delicious seasonings to create more savory meals that I'm proud to serve my family. No one likes the "same ole, same ole" boring dishes, do you? Didn't think so.

I recently contacted BKW Seasonings and asked if I could review one of their seasonings. BKW Seasonings generously sent 3 seasonings for me to experiment with! I wasn't expecting this surprise as they asked me to choose one flavor that I'd most love to try.

The seasonings couldn't have arrived at a better time. Contemplating how I am going to prepare the chicken legs for dinner, these seasonings were the perfect solution! Chicken is one of our staple meats and you do tend to run out of experimental ideas.

Before going on, I feel the need to explain the 2 fuzzy pictures. I tried to upload my digital camera software onto my desktop and unfortunately, Windows 7 will not support this software. Therefore, I had to use my cell phone to capture the seasonings I received and the chicken. Somehow, the finished product was deleted so please use your imagination on how the chicken legs would have looked.

BKW seasoned chicken legs:

-Line glass or cake pan with foil

-Layer chicken evenly, don't overlap

-Drizzle olive oil on the chicken, coat the chicken by using your fingers

-Generously sprinkle your choice of BKW Seasonings (In this case I used Big Kahuna FIRE Seasoning and BKW Cajun Rub )

-Turn chicken legs over and repeat with BKW Seasonings

-Cover pan with foil

-Bake at 350 degree's until fully cooked; checking every 30 minutes with fork

When I removed the chicken from the oven, the aroma filled the entire house! It had a pleasant scent and I served the chicken with rice, green beans and bread. The chicken did smell wonderful but, how would it taste? More importantly, how would my family like it?

The end result? Our chicken dinner was fabulous! It tasted as great as it smelled and even my picky husband said that we need to continue using this seasoning so last night, I used all 3 flavors on the roast I cooked in the crock pot. I served the roast in sandwiches and this too was delicious.

A little history about BKW Seasonings taken directly from the "About us" page:

BKW Seasonings is a family-owned business. Originating in the early 1960’s, BKW Seasonings has been satisfying taste buds for over 40 years. The seasoning was created to produce a unique buffalo-style wing that our family has used for years cooking wings for friends and customers at football games, parties, and gatherings.

In 1997 we opened a small take-out restaurant near the University of Tennessee campus called Big Kahuna Wings. Just two weeks after opening, BKW competed with twenty-nine local, regional and national wing restaurants including Hooters, Spicy's, and Buffalo Wild Wings, among others and was voted BEST WINGS in Knoxville at the annual "War of the Wings." The Big Kahuna legend was born.

While operating the restaurant, we experimented with the seasoning and found it to be exceptionally good to bring out the true flavor in almost any food. Steaks, hamburgers, pork, fish, vegetables, and many other foods have proven to be excellent with the addition of our seasoning. The result was the creation of Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend. When you try our blends, we believe you will agree . . . it is the most unique seasoning to ever hit the market, and its uses are endless!

BKW Seasonings comes in 7 flavors!

Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend-
Is the most unique seasoning ever to hit the market. Its uses are endless. Although it was created for fried chicken, it is great on almost anything! Even popcorn!

Big Kahuna Light All Purpose Seasoning-
Gives you the same great flavor of our Original Blend with Less Salt and NO MSG! Its uses are endless. Although it was created for fried chicken, it is great on almost anything! Even popcorn!

Big Kahuna Barbeque Rub-

BKW’s Butter Blend-
Combines the great taste of our Original Award Winning blend with the perfect amount of Butter to create this unique and tasty flavor. Try on any of your favorite vegetables or with your popcorn to add that special flavor that is BKW!

BKW’s Pepper Blend-
Brings out the best in all that is Pepper! This NO SALT, NO SODIUM blend does not give up any flavor as it combines four different peppers with a mixture of our Original Blend…minus the salt of course! Try it on any of your favorite dishes to add that extra flavor that is BKW!
