As I've mentioned before, Extreme Couponing eludes and intimidates me. One of the issues with this is that Extreme couponers can normally double or triple coupons up to $1.00 in several stores depending on the area. This won't prevent me from trying to save as much money as I can to help with our budget.
While browsing the inserts and ads of this Sunday newspaper, I was able to find a few fantastic deals that I would like to share with you and something I've discovered! Our stores are limited and yes, we do have a Kroger. The Kroger in town doubles coupons up to .65. I decided to head to Walgreen's for my attempt due to the deals they had going.
While this may not look like a large abundance of products to some, this haul brought in a much needed savings on products we use on a regular basis with a couple exceptions. We've never tried the Tide Stain release and we normally purchase less expensive razors, shampoo, conditioner, batteries and soap. We prefer using Scott as it lasts longer than regular rolls of toilet paper. I saved over $26 just on the Scott tissue alone!
I'm still learning how to use my coupons to maximize my savings so bare with me. I haven't put together the complete savings by type. Here are the great totals though!
**Please note that this is not technically a stockpile as we currently needed the items**
Coupons and Walgreen's ad in hand, I racked up today's savings on:
1 Bag M&M's Peanut butter
1 Bag M&M's Plain
2 Gillette Fusion Proglide Razors
4 Bars Olay Ultra Moisture Moisturizing bars (soap)
1 Pantene Dry to Moisturized Shampoo
1 Pantene Dry to Moisturized Conditioner
4 12 roll packs Scott Tissue (Regular $11.99 each!) = 48 Rolls of TP
3 Tide Stain Release Tabs
3 Purex Liquid laundry detergent (Ad mentioned 32 load, Walgreen's allowed 33 load bottles)
3 Bottles Kids bubbles
2 Spring pencils/Erasers
2 Spring Ink pens
1 Book spring stickers
1 Box Always Infinity
2 Silly putty eggs
2 Bottles Dawn Dish Detergent
2 4pks Duracell Batteries
1 Colgate Max Clean smart foam with whitening toothpaste
After using my coupons, Sales and using register rewards (learned about Register rewards program today!) I only spent:
Total + Tax: $63.04
Total savings of $99.32!
My discovery is for everyone to use your coupons and check the sales ads! Unfortunately, I am unable to print coupons right now. However, I hope to be able to do this in the future to save even more money.
